True Blood Fragments

Here's a few tasty tidbits that will leave you sucking your teeth for a few days.

True Blood season 5 casting news is already here! The show is casting a character named Patrick Devins to appear in the season 4 finale and recur in season 5. It's also being reported that Scott Foley (Felicity, Scrubs, Grey’s Anatomy) has landed the role of Terry’s ruggedly attractive army buddy, Patrick. Foley will appear in at least 7 episodes, but no further details about the character have emerged.

What do you think about the casting?

In True Blood (The Complete Third Season), vampire Bill mysteriously disappears just moments after proposing to Sookie. Season two left fans hanging with a very frantic Sookie desperately calling out for her beloved beau. It seems that True Blood is just as addictive as V.

The L.A. Times is going to treat us with True Blood interviews all week! Yesterday it was Deborah Ann Woll, today it’s Stephen Moyer talking about vampires as metaphor, why he thinks the genre is still going strong, and why he thinks a Sookie/Eric romance will be good for the show.

And speaking of Deborah Ann Woll, she recently revealed that she believes Bela Lugosi’s portrayal of Count Dracula in 1931′s Dracula to be the first sexy vampire. The actress, who plays vampire Jessica Hamby on True Blood, spoke to the Los Angeles Times about her love of horror films, stating that she believes Lugosi provided the foundations for today's sexier image of vampires.

"Think about Bela Lugosi," Woll said. "He's kind of the first sexy vampire but he was so strange. He was so queer in that way. You couldn't get a handle on who he was or what he wanted." Read the whole interview here.

True Blood returns June 26 at 9pm on HBO.
