Being Human Will Be Different

I've made no bones about the fact that I'm a HUGE fan of the Being Human series - and the reasons. What a refreshing take on some of the more "worn out" characteristics of our fanged friends - both wolf and vampire.

You may recall that I posted a Being Human Shocker back in April and fans are still licking their lips with anticipation of the 4th season - starting soon on BBCAM.

And for US fans, we hit paydirt when SyFy introduced an American version of Being Human this past season. We winced in unison at the thought of a cable version disaster and breathed a sigh of relief once it became clear the SyFy "did it right."

SyFy’s Being Human, a remake of the popular British show, was SUCH a success its first season that we're being treated to a second. Yet, fans are now wondering if the American version will mimic the British series every step of the way.

Here's the answer!

The first season of SyFy’s Being Human was nearly scene-for-scene identical to the British version. However, they aren’t doing that in season 2.

"This year, we'll see that we're striking on a way different path," promises American executive producer Jeremy Carver. "We're laying down our own framework here."

Awesome news for die-hard Being Human fans!

The second season of Being Human started shooting a few weeks ago and is set to return to Syfy channel in January.

Sam Witwer, who plays the sexy vampire, Aidan, tells us that with Bishop dead, Aidan has kind of gone off the rails. Despite the rocky relationship that Aidan had with his maker, he is now lost without him. "He kills a girl in the first episode,"

As for Josh, the werewolf, Sam Huntington said that his character "[is] stronger and he's more in tune with who he is. His relationship with Norah has developed in very interesting ways," he says.

Norah is his girlfriend, who might have lost their werewolf love child during the full moon when Josh may or may not have made Norah a werewolf like him. Yes... we have to wait and see if this plotline will follow the British path.

And just to keep us all drooling with anticipation, Carver added that season 2 will feature "new types of werewolves, vampires and ghosts."

Will you watch?
